Article I: Name and Purpose

The official name of this institution is Al Huda Islamic School, located in Tucson, Arizona. The purpose of the school is to provide high-quality education from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in a nurturing, faith-based environment. Guided by the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah, we are committed to academic excellence, moral development, and the preparation of future leaders who embody Islamic character and values.

Article II: Governance

The school is overseen by a Board of Directors, who are responsible for setting policies, safeguarding the mission, and ensuring the financial stability of the institution. Board members serve designated terms and are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Decisions are made through majority voting, with a quorum required for all official meetings.

Article III: Administration

The Principal, appointed by the Board, leads the daily operations of the school. Together with the administrative staff, the Principal ensures the smooth management of academic programs, student services, and faculty development. The administration is dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for students and staff alike.

Article IV: Staff and Faculty Responsibilities

Teachers and staff at Al Huda Islamic School are entrusted with providing a rigorous academic curriculum while nurturing students’ spiritual and moral growth. All staff are expected to model Islamic character, maintain professionalism, and support the holistic development of each student. Faculty members work in partnership with parents to ensure a strong home–school connection.

Article V: Student Rights and Responsibilities

Students at Al Huda Islamic School have the right to learn in an environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to personal and academic growth. They are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, uphold Islamic values, and respect their peers, teachers, and community. Discipline and guidance will always be rooted in fairness, compassion, and restorative practices.

Article VI: Community and Parent Engagement

Parents and guardians are essential partners in the success of our school. The Parent–Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the mission of Al Huda Islamic School through volunteering, community-building activities, and feedback. We encourage open communication between families and the school to ensure that every child thrives.

Article VII: Financial Oversight

The Board of Directors maintains full responsibility for the school’s financial management. Annual budgets are prepared, reviewed, and approved by the Board. Independent audits may be conducted to ensure transparency. All funds and assets are dedicated solely to advancing the mission of the school.

Article VIII: Amendments

These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the Board of Directors. Proposed amendments must align with the mission of the school and the principles of Islamic education, ensuring that the integrity and vision of the institution remain intact.
