Leadership & Service
What We Offer
Leadership at Al Huda is service in action. Students practice shūrā (consultation), responsibility, and community care through Student Council, grade reps, event committees, and khidmah projects that benefit our school, local masājid, and Tucson neighbors.

Physical Education (KG1–12): Age-appropriate skill development, fitness literacy, nutrition basics, and teamwork.

Daily Movement & Recess: Active play, structured games, and inclusive options for all students.

After-School Clubs/Teams: Seasonal sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, track, volleyball) based on interest and facilities.

Wellness Education: Sleep, hydration, screen-time balance, and Prophetic habits for a healthy lifestyle.

Opportunities by Division

KG1–2 (Foundations): Classroom helpers, kindness challenges, campus beautification.

Grades 3–5 (Emerging Leaders): Grade reps, morning announcements, drive coordinators (with staff).

Grades 6–8 (Middle School): Student Council roles, event teams, mentorship for younger grades.

Grades 9–12 (Upper School): Council officers, project leads, partnerships with community orgs, capstone service initiatives.

Student Council & Grade Reps

Purpose: Voice student ideas, plan spirit days, support service campaigns.

Selection: Elections or teacher nominations each fall; mid-year vacancies filled as needed.

Training: Leadership workshops on communication, project planning, budgeting, and Islamic ethics.

(Service) Projects

Examples: Food & clothing drives, masjid maintenance support, refugee welcome kits, neighborhood cleanups, Ramadan baskets, sustainability projects.

Service Hours (Gr 6–12): Tracked per term with reflection logs connecting action to intention (niyyah) and impact.

How to Get Involved

Apply/Nominate: Submit the Leadership & Service Application (students) or Nomination Form (teachers/parents).

Approval & Onboarding: Advisor review, family notification, and kickoff meeting.

Showcase: End-of-term reflection fair highlighting outcomes and learning.
Recognition

Certificates & Pins: For active contributors and project leads.

Khidmah Honors: Seniors may earn a service cord upon completing hours and reflections.
